How to Convert a PDF to JPG (or PNG)
A PDF is great for sending a document around, but not so great when you want to drop one page into a slide deck, embed a chart on a webpage, or post a page as an image. For that you need the page as a picture.
JPG or PNG?
The PDF to JPG tool can output either format. JPG files are generally smaller, which suits photos and pages with lots of imagery. PNG is lossless, which tends to suit pages with sharp text, charts, or line art where compression artifacts would be noticeable.
How to convert a PDF to images
- Open the PDF to JPG tool and upload your PDF.
- Choose JPG or PNG as the output format.
- Select which pages to export — you don't have to convert the whole document.
- Download the page images.
Every exported image matches its page's original aspect ratio, so nothing is cropped or stretched.
When to convert only some pages
If you only need one chart from a forty-page report, export just that page. It's faster to download and saves you sorting through dozens of files afterwards.
A note on text
Once a page is an image, its text is part of the picture — it can't be selected, searched, or copied. If you need to keep working with the text, convert to an editable format such as Word instead, or keep the original PDF alongside the images.
